Chapter 2 : Asking and Giving Opinion
In this chapter I'll tell you about asking and giving opinion. Before we study about them, we must know what is opinion first. Opinion is phrase or sentence that consists of argument, reason or opinion from someone.
Asking opinion is a sentence which asking opinion or argument to other people to satisfaction. Giving opinion is sentence that gives a reason to someone or other people.
So, asking and giving opinion is expressions that is used for talking about argument or opinion of two or more people
1. Expression of asking opinion (Menanyakan pendapat)
There are expression of asking opinion in two situation :
* Formal
- Do you have any idea?
- What is your opinion about....?
- What is your feeling about...?
- Do you have any opinion on....
- Do you think is/are.....
- Have you have any comments on......
* Informal
- What do you think of....?
- What is your idea/opinion...?
- What do you think about.....?
- How do you like?
- How do think of Lisa's idea?
2. Expression of giving opinion (Memberikan pendapat)
There are expression of asking opinion in two situation :
* Formal
- I personally believe......
- I personally consider......
- I personally think/feel.....
- Well, personally.....
- I assume/guess......
* Informal
- I think.....
- I think it's good/nice/great....
- I think that......
- In my opinion.....
- In my case...
- In my mind....
- I believe....
- If you ask to me, I feel.....
Example 1
Riska : How are you?
Aisha : I'm fine. and you?
Riska : Fine too, thanks
Aisha : Riska, What do you think about my new dress? (Asking Opinion)
Riska : Wow, I think it is a beautiful dress with the newest style. Where did you buy it, Aisha? (Giving Opinion)
Aisha : My mom bought it for my birthday gift. What is your opinion about the color? (Asking Opinion)
Riska : Hmmmm in my opinion, it is a nice color. The color is glamour and you look gorgeous wear it.
Aisha : Thanks for your opinion, Riska

4. punishment at school

During the Covid 19 pandemic, online learning has both positive and negative sides. The positive side that we can get is that we can help the spread of Covid 19 by staying at home.
